Use your spoon to measure out your loose leaf tea. A good general rule to follow is 1 teaspoon of tea for every 8 oz of water. So if you were going to make tea in a 16 oz mug, you’d use 2 teaspoons of tea. The tea filter has a slit about two inches before the top where you can open it up and put your tea in. Measure out the appropriate amount of tea, and place your filter in your mug or teapot. Make sure you leave the top end draped over the edge so that it doesn’t fall in and get crumpled. Pour your boiling water in, and brew for the recommended steeping time. And that’s it! Super simple. Super convenient. Super awesome.

I love using tea filters and this is the primary way I brew my tea. They’re made from non-bleached paper and are totally compostable. Plus they’re the best when you’re traveling or drinking tea on the go.

Do you use tea filters when making loose leaf tea?

Happy Brewing!
